Ingredients

Scale

Tortilla Base

  • 4 large flour tortillas

Filling

  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices or diced cooked ham
  • 1/4 cup chopped bell peppers
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano

Toppings & Garnish

  • Olive oil for brushing
  • Optional: grated parmesan
  • Optional: red pepper flakes
  • Optional: fresh basil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare the Tortillas: Lay each of the flour tortillas flat on a clean surface. Spread a thin, even layer of pizza sauce over each tortilla to serve as the base for the toppings.
  3. Add Toppings: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce on each tortilla. Then, add the pepperoni slices or diced cooked ham, chopped bell peppers, and sprinkle the dried oregano evenly on top.
  4. Roll and Slice: Carefully roll each tortilla tightly into a log shape. Using a sharp knife, slice each log into 1-inch thick rolls to create individual pizza roll pieces.
  5. Prepare for Baking: Arrange the tortilla pizza rolls cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly brush the tops with olive oil to help them brown nicely during baking.
  6. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the rolls for 10-12 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and the cheese inside is bubbly and melted.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Remove the rolls from the oven and sprinkle with optional grated parmesan, red pepper flakes, or fresh basil if desired. Serve the pizza rolls warm for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Use any preferred pizza toppings or substitute pepperoni with cooked sausage or veggies for variety.
  • For a crispier texture, brush the rolls with a little more olive oil before baking.
  • Serve these pizza rolls with extra pizza sauce or ranch dressing for dipping.
  • These can be made ahead and reheated in the oven to maintain crispiness.
  • For a gluten-free version, substitute the flour tortillas with gluten-free tortillas.
