Ingredients

Scale

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter (slightly softened)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 & 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Add-ins

  • 2/3 cup semi sweet chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)
  • 9 Halloween Oreos
  • 1/4 cup Halloween sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silpat for easy release.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a medium bowl, use a mixer to cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add Egg and Vanilla: Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  4. Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt to the wet ingredients. Stir just until all dry ingredients are combined without overmixing.
  5. Fold in Chocolate Chips and Sprinkles: Gently fold the chocolate chips and Halloween sprinkles into the dough to distribute evenly.
  6. Shape Cookies with Oreos: Using a large cookie scoop (about 1/4 cup), scoop out the dough. Flatten it slightly in your palm, place one Halloween Oreo in the center, then fold the dough completely around the Oreo and roll gently to seal.
  7. Bake: Place the stuffed cookies on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes. The cookies may look slightly underdone or gooey in the center, but they will firm up as they cool.
  8. Add Toppings and Cool: Immediately after removing from the oven, top each cookie with extra chocolate chips. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Do not overbake; cookies should remain slightly soft for the best texture.
  • Using slightly softened butter helps achieve the perfect dough consistency.
  • For a stronger Oreo flavor, try using double-stuffed Halloween Oreos.
  • These cookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • Feel free to substitute the sprinkles with your favorite festive decorations.
