Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 box of Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes (5 cakes)
  • 8 ounces white chocolate or candy melts
  • 3 tablespoons Festive sprinkles

Decorations

  • 3 tablespoons Red candy melts (for drizzling, optional)
  • Green sanding sugar for decoration

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cake: Unwrap the Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes and place them in a large mixing bowl ready for blending.
  2. Create cake crumbs: Use a handheld mixer to blend the cakes into a crumbly dough consistency, then mix in the festive sprinkles evenly throughout the mixture.
  3. Form truffle balls: Scoop the cake dough using a tablespoon, roll each scoop between your palms to form smooth balls, and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Repeat until all dough is used.
  4. Melt white chocolate: Melt the white chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in short intervals or use a double boiler until smooth and glossy.
  5. Coat the truffles: Dip each chilled cake ball into the melted white chocolate with a fork or dipping tool, coat evenly, let excess chocolate drip off, and place back onto the baking sheet.
  6. Prepare red drizzle: Melt the red candy melts in a piping bag or ziplock bag by microwaving in 30-second bursts, massaging in between to ensure full melting.
  7. Decorate truffles: Snip the tip of the bag and drizzle the red candy melts over the white chocolate-coated truffles. Sprinkle green sanding sugar on top for added festive sparkle.
  8. Set and serve: Refrigerate the decorated truffles for a few minutes to allow the chocolate to set completely before enjoying your festive treat.

Notes

  • Use gloves or clean hands to shape the truffle balls for a tidy finish.
  • You can substitute white chocolate with almond bark or other candy melts if preferred.
  • To ensure smooth melting, avoid overheating the chocolate as it can seize up.
  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week.
  • For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract or almond extract to the cake crumb mixture before forming balls.
