Truffle Base
- 1 box Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes (5 cakes)
- 3 tablespoons festive sprinkles
Coating and Decoration
- 8 ounces white chocolate or candy melts
- 3 tablespoons red candy melts (optional, for drizzling)
- Green sanding sugar for decoration
- Prepare the cakes: Unwrap the Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes and place them in a large bowl ready for mixing.
- Form the dough: Use a handheld mixer to blend the cakes until a crumbly dough forms. Stir in the festive sprinkles until evenly distributed.
- Shape the truffles: Using a tablespoon, scoop and roll the dough between your palms to form balls. Place each on a parchment-lined baking sheet and repeat until all dough is used.
- Melt white chocolate: Melt the white chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl using short bursts in the microwave or a double boiler method until smooth.
- Coat the truffles: Dip each chilled cake ball into the melted white chocolate with a fork or dipping tool, ensuring it is fully coated. Let excess chocolate drip off, then return the truffles to the baking sheet.
- Melt and drizzle red candy melts: Melt the red candy melts in a piping or ziplock bag using microwave bursts of 30 seconds, massaging the bag to fully melt the chocolate.
- Decorate the truffles: Snip the tip of the bag and drizzle the red candy melts over the truffles. Sprinkle green sanding sugar on top for a festive finish. Chill in the fridge until set.
Notes
- You can substitute white chocolate with candy melts for easier melting and coating.
- Ensure cake balls are well chilled before dipping to avoid melting the coating prematurely.
- Decorate with additional festive sprinkles or edible glitter if desired.
- Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
