Sliders
- 12 Kings Hawaiian rolls
- 1 pound chicken tenders, cooked
- ½ cup marinara sauce
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped
Garlic Butter Topping
- ¼ cup (57g) butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 3 teaspoons garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese
- Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the sliders.
- Slice rolls: Carefully slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves in a prepared baking dish and set the top halves aside.
- Assemble sliders: On the bottom buns, layer 6 slices of provolone cheese evenly. Then add the cooked chicken tenders, spread the marinara sauce over the chicken, lay down sliced fresh mozzarella cheese, and sprinkle with chopped fresh basil.
- Top sliders: Place the top halves of the rolls carefully on top of the assembled bottom halves with fillings.
- Mix butter topping: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter with sea salt, minced garlic, finely chopped fresh parsley, and grated parmesan cheese. Stir well to blend all flavors.
- Brush tops: Use a brush to generously coat the tops of the slider buns with the garlic butter mixture.
- Bake covered: Cover the baking dish tightly with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the cheese inside is hot and bubbly.
- Finish baking uncovered: Remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 5 minutes or until the tops of the sliders are golden brown and slightly crisp.
- Serve: Remove from oven, slice the sliders individually, and serve warm for a crowd-pleasing treat.
Notes
- Use cooked chicken tenders to save time; grilled or baked chicken both work well.
- If you prefer a spicier flavor, add red pepper flakes to the marinara or garlic butter topping.
- Make sure to cover with foil during the initial bake to prevent the rolls from drying out.
- These sliders can be prepared ahead and baked right before serving for convenience.
- Swap out fresh basil for spinach or arugula to add a different fresh flavor note.
