Instructions

  1. Prepare the Salmon: Drain the canned salmon thoroughly, removing excess liquid. If you prefer a smoother texture, pick out any skin and bones from the salmon before mixing.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained salmon, bread crumbs, finely chopped green onions, celery, mayonnaise, and the beaten egg. Stir well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  3. Form Patties: Divide the mixture into four equal portions. Shape each portion into a round patty about 1/2 inch thick. Set the patties aside on a plate.
  4. Cook the Patties: Heat a large sauté pan over medium heat and melt the butter. Once melted and hot, place the patties carefully into the pan. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until each side is golden brown and the patties are cooked through.
