Ingredients

Scale

Cheese and Bacon

  • 8 oz Mozzarella Cheese, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 6 slices Cooked Bacon, crumbled

Chicken Mixture

  • 1 lb Ground Chicken (or substitute ground turkey or lean beef)
  • 1/2 cup Buffalo Sauce (adjust for spice preference)
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper

Breading

  • 1 cup Plain Flour
  • 2 large Eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs (Panko or regular)

Frying

  • 2 cups Vegetable Oil or Canola Oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Mozzarella: Cut mozzarella cheese into small cubes approximately one inch each and set aside for filling.
  2. Wrap Cheese with Bacon: Crumble the cooked bacon into smaller pieces and completely wrap each mozzarella cube with a piece of bacon to create a bacon-covered cheese center.
  3. Mix Chicken and Seasoning: In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and half of the buffalo sauce. Mix well until fully incorporated.
  4. Form Bombs: Flatten a handful of the chicken mixture in your palm, place a bacon-wrapped mozzarella cube in the center, and carefully encase the chicken around the cheese to form a firm ball.
  5. Bread the Bombs: Coat each chicken ball by rolling it in flour, then dipping into the beaten eggs, and finally coating thoroughly with breadcrumbs for a crispy exterior.
  6. Cook Bombs: Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the bombs for 5-6 minutes or until golden and cooked through. Alternatively, preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake the bombs for 18-20 minutes until crispy.
  7. Serve: Drizzle remaining buffalo sauce over the cooked bombs and serve hot for maximum flavor and spice.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground chicken with ground turkey or lean ground beef according to preference.
  • Adjust buffalo sauce quantity depending on desired spice level.
  • For a healthier version, opt for baking instead of frying.
  • Ensure oil is at the correct temperature before frying to avoid greasy or undercooked bombs.
  • Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crunchiness.
